The process is virtually painless – most clients describe it as mildly scratchy or soothing – and a perfecting session is scheduled 5–6 weeks later to adjust colour intensity and refine the shape.

Exfoliate and moisturise your lips daily for 5 days before your appointment

If you have a history of cold sores (herpes simplex), take Acyclovir or Zovirax for 5 days before and after treatment to prevent outbreaks
